Rapper French Montana gives his first-ever concert in Egypt

Moroccan-American rapper، singer and songwriter، French Montana performed Friday evening his first concert in Egypt at Dandy Mall، in 6th of October City، amid the attendee of Egyptian، Foreign and Arab community members in Egypt.

Egyptian singer-actor، Tamer Hosny made a special appearance during the concert، where they performed for the first time a duet song called "Unforgettable".

Montana was keen to perform Hosny’s song "Eish Beshoak" and megastar’s Amr Diab song "Nour El Ein".

He was also keen to greet his Egyptian audience saying “Tahya Misr” (Long Live Egypt).

French Montana had arrived on Thursday for the concert، which comes within the Egypt Calendar Events that were launched back in 2018 by American singer-songwriter Jason Derulo، Tamer Hosny، and DJ David Vendetta on November 23.

Egypt's Calendar is an entertainment map of events that attracts the world's top stars to Egypt throughout the year.

Noteworthy، Karim Kharbouch، better known by his stage name French Montana، is a American rapper، singer and songwriter.

Karim Kharbouch was born on November 9، 1984، in Casablanca، Morocco. He grew up at the family estate outside Casablanca where he lived for the first 13 years of his life. Growing up، he was consumed with soccer and rap، describing them as his two favorite childhood hobbies،before getting into basketball in his later teens.

In 1996، at the age of 13، Kharbouch left Morocco with his parents and younger brother for New York City، where they settled in the South Bronx.

Kharbouch spoke only his native languages of Moroccan Darija and French when he first arrived، and learned English in the streets and in the Bronx high schools of Lehman and Roosevelt.

He is the founder of Coke Boys Records، and its predecessor Cocaine City Records. In 2012، he signed a joint-venture recording deal with Bad Boy Records and Maybach Music Group.

Kharbouch made his mixtape debut in 2007. In 2010، he had his breakthrough with "Choppa Choppa Down". He released his debut studio album Excuse My French on May 21، 2013.

In July 2017، Montana released his second studio album، Jungle Rules، which peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. The album was supported by the single "Unforgettable"، featuring Swae Lee، which became Montana's first song as lead artist to reach the top 10 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

He has also collaborated with a multitude of artists، such as Drake، Lil Wayne، The Weeknd، Young Thug، T.I.، Chris Brown، among others.

Montana's charitable work started after he visited Uganda to film his "Unforgettable" video in 2017، a song that gained over a billion streams and held strong on the top 10 in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. His efforts in Uganda raised half a million dollars to build the Suubi hospital which serves over 300،000 citizens of Uganda.

In 2018، French was given the honor of Global Citizen Ambassador for his charity work in the East African country، Uganda. This was the first time the honor has been bestowed upon a rapper.
