Syrian Transport Ministry said in a statement on Thursday that the government is working on resuming flights to Egyptian capital of Cairo.

The statement، which is published by Sputnik News Agency today، said Syria is to operate three air flights from Lattakia to Cairo.

Noteworthy، Syrian Transport Ministry announced that the flights between the UAE capital Abu Dhabi and the city of Lattakia will be resumed starting on March 26.

“The flights will be conducted every Tuesday to cover the large demand for travel from the UAE to Syria،” Syrian Transport Ministry said in a statement.

In December، A flight from Damascus landed in Tunisia’s Habib Bourguiba Airport، marking the first direct flight between the two countries since the outbreak of Syria’s civil war eight years ago، according to Middle East Monitor.

The United Arab Emirates reopened its embassy in Damascus marking a big diplomatic boost for President Bashar al-Assad from a U.S.-allied Arab state that once backed rebels fighting him، Reuters reported.
