The World Health Organization (WHO) has praised Egypt for support offered to 14-Afican states to fight hepatitis C virus. Egypt planned to provide medical staff and tools to examine one million people in those African states. Egypt’s envoy to the WHO said on opening the 2019 African Summit of Hepatitis C virus held Kampala، the capital city of Uganda، that the world organization will support the Egyptian initiative in the African countries. Those countries locate in the west، middle and east of Africa. The Egyptian emissary to the WHO، added that her country vows to examine and treat one million people in Sudan، Burundi، Chad، The Congo Democratic Republic، Djibouti، Ethiopia، Eretria، The Equatorial Guinea، Kenya، Mali، Tanzania، Somalia، South Sudan and Uganda. More than 200 thousand people die every year of symptoms relevant to hepatitis C virus.
