Lebanese recording artist، Nancy Ajram will perform Thursday evening at the Jeddah Season festival، in Jeddah، Saudi Arabia، amid a large crowd.
She will perform a number of her famous songs including "Ma Tegi Hena"، "Akhasmak Ah"، "Oul Tani Keda"، and others.
The Jeddah Season festival، which began on June 8 and runs until July 18، forms part of a major drive to boost tourism in the Kingdom، according Arab news.
Most of the Jeddah Season events will be spread across the venues of King Abdullah Sports City، Jeddah’s historical area، Al-Hamra Corniche and Jeddah Waterfront.
The entertainment program aims to highlight the city as a top visitor destination while at the same time encouraging partnerships with local businesses. Organizers also hope to generate up to 20،000 job and volunteering opportunities for young Saudis throughout the course of the festivities.
Jeddah Season kicked off with a crowd-pulling concert by Emirati singer Ahlam، known as Queen of the Gulf، followed on day two by popular Saudi vocalist Mohammed Abdo، and Egyptian star Amr Diab on the third day، with shows held at the King Abdullah Sports City.
General supervisor of Jeddah Season، Raed Abuzinada، said the festival formed part of a national initiative to promote the tourism sector، which was considered a major contributor to the Kingdom’s economy.
He said the issuing of electronic tourist visas had been linked to the purchase of tickets for any Jeddah Season event. Visitors buying festival tickets online would، where required، be automatically guaranteed a tourist visa which could be issued within three minutes (details at sharek.com.sa)، Abuzinada added.
Noteworthy، Nancy Nabil Ajram، is a multi-platinum Lebanese singer and Goodwill Ambassador for the UNICEF.
In 1995، at the age of twelve، Nancy Ajram took part in a variety show، Noujoum Al-Moustakbal، ("Stars of the Future")، a Lebanese reality television competition، which finds new solo musical talent. Ajram won a gold medal in the Tarab category after singing a song by Umm Kulthum.
Ajram studied music with renowned Lebanese musicians and although she was less than 18 years old، the syndicate of professional artists in Lebanon accepted her as a member. Her first singles were titled "Hobbak Allam Albi el Gheere" by Abdo Mounzer، and "Oulha Kelma Ala Shani".
At the age of 15، she released her first album، Mihtagalak ("I Need You') in 1998. It was followed by Sheel Oyoonak Anni ("Stop Staring") in 2000، which achieved more success.
By 2007، Ajram had sold over 2 million records ranking 3rd best selling female artist in Lebanese history.
She has released seven studio albums to date and appeared in numerous music videos and commercials.
She participated in the most significant Arabic festivals and won multiple awards، most importantly the 2008 World Music Award of best-selling Middle Eastern artist، the youngest Arab WMA winner to date، 2012 WMA for the second time and 2014 WMA for the third time.
Nancy Ajram is the first and only female sponsor and spokesperson of Coca-Cola in the Middle East and the Arab world.
Considered by many as an Arabic music icon of the decade، Nancy was described on the Oprah Winfrey Show as one of the most influential personalities of the Middle East.
