Former Israeli Prime Minister and former Defense Minister Ehud Barak is considering running for next elections.
He will compete for the Labor Party leadership، while sources have suggested that he will run the elections on an independent list.
He is very close to making his final decision to compete، reports said.
The Yisrael Hume newspaper said the party's current chairman، Avi Jabay، was aware of this، and that if Barak decided to compete، he would support him.
The leadership of the Labor party is scheduled to meet to approve the program of the party congress، arrange the internal elections for the party leadership and form the list for the upcoming elections.
The party is currently in a struggle to replace the president، especially after the storm that erupted inside the party following the proposal of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to include him in his government.
