Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur Saturday to win the Champions League. The match wasn’t much to go on about; Nate Scott’s recap called it “honestly a bit of a snooze.” Mohamed Salah smashed a penalty kick after a call came just 23 seconds into it. From there Liverpool salted the game away until scoring again in the 87th minute to secure a 2-0 victory، according to FTW news.
Supporters sang an epic rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid. Others، including part owner LeBron James، sent out congrats via Twitter. A friend of mine had his toddler sleep with a Liverpool scarf. There was much rejoicing.
And Salah made sure the trophy got home safely.
That looks … horribly uncomfortable but also completely reasonable. Any parent knows this situation well: the child climbs upon you and goes to sleep، finally، and your back may be wrenched and your arm، the whole thing، has been asleep for 45 minutes but you dare not move. That’s Salah here، so I get it.
