Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi flies to Saudi Arabia today Thursday to attend the Arab emergency summit and the regular summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation [OIC]، which will be held in Mecca on Thursday and Friday، the presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.
Rady added that Al-Sisi's participation in the Arab and Islamic summits comes within the framework of Egypt's keenness to strengthen and develop relations with all member countries of the Arab and Islamic worlds and to contribute effectively to efforts aimed to strengthen joint mechanisms for Arab and Islamic peoples.
He added that Al-Sisi is scheduled to deliver a speech at the Arab emergency summit، which includes a comprehensive vision for maintaining the security and stability of the region in the face of the current challenges، as well as means of enhancing consultation and coordination among Arab countries in this regard.
The Egyptian presidential spokesman said that Al-Sisi planned to hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the two summits with a number of Arab and Muslim leaders، during which he will discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations and discuss the latest regional and international developments and issues of mutual concern.
He added that the current Islamic summit will be held under the slogan "Hand in Hand towards the Future".
During the meeting، the Egyptian president will discuss ways to crystallize a unified stance on the current issues and events in the Muslim world، particularly combating extremist ideology and addressing the spread of the discourse of discrimination and hatred against Muslims..
