The quorum required for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to come into force has been completed، the Egyptian foreign ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
The African continent has taken a giant step towards the prosperity and sustainable development of its population as the required number of 22 countries، including Egypt، have ratified the AfCFTA agreement، the statement said.

Electricity Ministry to consider low prices for New Valley households
The Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy promised to consider selling electricity at lower prices to households in New Valley governorate than those announced on Tuesday and that will come into force in July.

The ministry’s decision is upon the request of the Energy and Environment Committee at the House of Representatives in light of the governorate’s desert nature and temperature that hit 47 degrees celsius.

The Ministry of Endowments has designated specific mosques for Itikaf; however، all mosques across the country are allowed to hold Tahajjud prayers in the last 10 days of Ramadan، Deputy Minister for Mosques Affairs Noah al-Essawy stated.

Itikaf means that worshippers reside in the mosque to dedicate all their time to prayers and Quran reading. Tahajjud are late night prayers in Ramadan. Both are non-obligatory and take place in the last 10 days of the holy month.
