Heatwave to peak in Egypt on Thursday، reach 45 degrees
Egypt’s Meteorological Authority said on Tuesday that the current heat wave in the country will peak over the upcoming three days، reaching highs of 45 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

Temperatures are expected to increase by an average of 5 to 6 degrees during the peak of the heat wave.
The heat wave has brought the highest temperatures seen this Ramadan، which started in Egypt on 6 May and is expected to end on 3 June.
During the holy month، Muslims fast during the daytime for a full lunar month.

Egyptian security forces eleminated two terrorist cells simultaneously، killing 16 terrorist elements in shootouts، in Arish in North Sinai، according to an interior ministry statement released on Tuesday.

The National Security Agency had detected two sites where terrorists were planning to carry out a series of attacks against vital facilities and prominent figures in different areas of Arish، the statement said.

The ministry said legal procedures were immediately taken and the high state security prosecution has opened an investigation.

Ministry of Interior investigates assault on students
The Egyptian Minister of Interior، Mahmoud Tawfeek، ordered on Tuesday to investigate the assault on high school students by members of the security forces.

The minister vowed that policemen involved in the incident will be held accountable for their mistreatment of the students.

A group of high school students gathered earlier on Tuesday outside the headquarters of the Ministry of education to protest delay in final exams، before being dispersed by security members.
