Egypt's Minister of Tourism، Rania Al-Mashat، accompanied South African tourists whose bus was attacked Sunday in a tour of the Giza pyramids، according to reports on Monday.

According to a statement from the Ministry، the South African citizens are members of the 25 tourist group whose bus was hit by an explosion near the pyramids this Sunday morning، local time.

Al-Mashat visited the wounded at Cairo's El-Haram Hospital before going to the pyramids with another group; Giza Governor Ahmed Rashed and South Africa's ambassador to Egypt accompanied the group during the tour.

At least 14 people were injured as a result of the bomb attack on the bus carrying tourists near the pyramids.

According to security sources، a device exploded near the bus، breaking the windows of the vehicle and injuring many of those on board، the detonation also hit a nearby car، injuring four Egyptians.

The attack comes almost five months after three Vietnamese tourists and their Egyptian guide were killed when a bomb exploded near their bus as it was travelling along El-Maryoutiya Street in Giza's Haram district.

No group has yet attributed responsibility for last December's attack.
