The official Mascot for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2019) has been revealed today Sunday as The Egyptian king Tutankhamun with a Red shirt.
Mohamed Fadl، manager of Egypt's African Nations Cup organizing committee published a video revealing the official mascot for the African tournament، scheduled to be hosted in Egypt، featuring the Egyptian king Tutankhamun wearing a Pharaonic headdress and a red shirt bearing the map of Africa on it.
Earlier in January، The CAF Executive Committee announced that Egypt will host the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) matches. Egypt won the rights to host the tournament after being selected over South Africa.
The 2019 AFCON is scheduled to take place from June 15 to July 13، having been moved from JanuaryFebruary to avoid club-versus-country clashes.
Egypt has already hosted four editions of the cup: in 1959، 1974، 1986 and 2006.
The Pharaohs have won the prestigious competition seven times.
