The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that the number of households with a computer reached 13.82 million families in 2018. This number is compared to 12.64 million families in 2017. A significant increase of 9.33% was attained within 12 months.
The number of households with a TV set was estimated at 23.54 million households in 2018. This number is compared to 22.13 million families in 2017 as an increase of 6.37%، has been attained. The (CAPMAS) released a statement on Thursday on the occasion of World Information Society Day، which is celebrated on May 17.
The statement added that the number of households with a mobile phone reached 23.41 million in 2018 compared to 22.19 million in 2017 with an increase of 5.50%. It pointed out that the number of family members who have access to the Internet reached 19.8 million in 2018.
