The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Egypt confirmed that the Egyptian Ministry of Health has provided treatment for 11،000 foreigners infected with HCV، including refugees and asylum seekers.
The Ministry of Health، in cooperation with UNHCR`s Office in Egypt and the World Health Organization، examined the refugees and asylum seekers for HCV، and provided treatment free of charge.
A total of 11832 refugees have been examined during the Presidential Initiative “100 million healthy people”.
The ministry allocated 15335 as the hotline، the same as the existing line. It will be provided in English and French by the beginning of May.
Noteworthy، the initiative aims at treating patients of C virus and non-communicable diseases.
It was specified for Egyptians، but Health Ministery allowed it for Africans living in Egypt.
