Harry Potter star Sir Michael Gambon has been withdrawn from a new Sky One comedy series after 'struggling to remember his lines'، it is claimed، daily mail reported.

Sir Michael، 78، who plays Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films had taken part in the pilot episode of Breeders.

Although his castmates are due to appear in the ten-part series which will airs next year، the Irish-born actor has not been signed up to it.

The news comes four years after he announced his fears that he had Alzheimer's and that he was quitting his stage career because he can't remember his lines.

He said at the time that he had been checked by two doctors for Alzheimer's disease and was relieved to be told that he didn't have the degenerative brain condition.

A source told The Sun: 'Michael is an incredible actor، and was extremely popular on set.

'But age appears to have caught up with him and he was struggling with the script.

'Lines weren't going in and sticking as they normally would.'

The source added that the pilot episode 'went really well' and that Sky execs were heavily behind it.

Among the cast of Breeders is Sherlock star Martin Freeman.

The shows is being scripted by comedy writer Simon Blackwell who has also created shows such as Michell & Web's sitcom Back.

Although the tests for Alzheimer's were negative it prompted Sir Michael to use an earpiece while acting، which linked him to a stage prompt in case he forgot his lines.
