Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi invited his Lebanese counterpart Michel Aoun to participate in the Arab-European summit، Lebanese Presidency said in a statement on Tuesday.
The Egyptian coastal city of Sharm El Sheikh will host summit on February 24-25.
Egypt's Ambassador to Lebanon Nazih Al-Najari conveyed the message to Aoun.
The Lebanese Presidency added that the invitation stressed that this historic summit is important in the Arab-European relations based on common political، security and socio-economic interests، as well as the geographical proximity between Arab and European countries.
In his invitation to his Lebanese counterpart، Al-Sisi stressed that the multiple ties "require further discussion، consultation and close cooperation between the two sides in order to overcome the common challenges they face."
Al-Sisi pointed out that the participation of President Aoun at the summit "will have a great impact on the success of its work."
For his part، Aoun thanked Al-Sisi، wishing for the success of the Arab-European summit.
