Al-Sisi leaves Addis Ababa after concluding activities of AU summit

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi left Addis Ababa this afternoon after concluding the activities of African Union Summit held in Ethiopia.

Al Sisi met with members of the AU Commission، including Moussa Faki، the Chairperson this morning and invited them to attend the Arab-African Youth Conference to be held in Aswan in March.

He also has met with a number of international and African leaders and officials on the sidelines of his participation in the summit.

The summit discussed a number of topics of sustainable development within the framework of the African Development Agenda 2063، most notably the issue of regional integration.

The summit also discussed the latest developments on the continent's conflicts and the launch of the “Silencing the guns in Africa “initiative by 2020.

African leaders also discussed post-conflict reconstruction and development efforts in African countries.

On Sunday، Rwandan President، Paul Kagame handed over on the Presidency of the AU 2019 to Al-Sisi.

The two-day summit was held under the theme of “Refugees، Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons: Towards Durable Solutions to Forced Displacement in Africa”.
