Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) received on Thursday about 421 artifacts that have been transferred from the Egyptian museum in Al-Tahrir Square، including King Khafra statue and a seated statue of King Amenhotep.
Tarek Tawfik، General supervisor of GEM، pointed out that the transfer process was carried out using 17 wooden boxes lined with acid-free materials and other moisture-absorbing materials in order to reduce the relative humidity in case of exceeding the permissible limit.
He added that The transport vehicles were equipped with metal units against vibration specially manufactured for the purpose of transporting monuments.
