South Sudan`s President Salva Kiir Mayardit left Cairo International Airport today`s morning after his official 2-day visit to Egypt.
President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met with South Sudanese counterpart on Thursday at the Heliopolis (Ittihadia) presidential palace in Cairo. President Salva Kiir Mayardit reached the Egyptian capital on Wednesday.
The two presidents held a summit-level meeting to review bilateral relations in various fields، and discuss a number of issues of common concern، presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.
"Egypt is a homeland for us forever،" said South Sudan President Salva Kiir، stressing that most Sudanese ministers got their degrees from Egyptian universities.
He added that the Sudanese government endeavors to further strengthen relations with Egypt.
During the joint press conference held this afternoon with president Al-Sisi، Kiir added that the peace agreement، which was signed in South Sudan، is not the best but it fits the current stage and takes us to a positive direction.
The visit comas as part of the good diplomatic relations between the two countries، which Egypt has obviously been keen on growing for many years. Egypt and Sudan have been exchanging visits in the term of the incumbent Egyptian president starting with a visit by Salva Kiir to Egypt in 2014.
