Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli held a meeting today Thursday with Mher Grigoryan Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Minister for Trade، Veronika Nikishina، to discuss ways of strengthening current cooperation frameworks.
The meeting was also attended by Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar.
During the meeting، Madbouli welcomed Grigoryan and his accompanying delegation، praising the historical relations between Egypt and Armenia.
He also pointed out to the important role played by the Armenian community in Egypt as a link between the Egyptian and Armenian peoples as well as their active contributions to the economic، political and artistic life in Egypt for decades.
Madbouli also expressed Egypt's aspiration to increase the volume of trade exchange with Armenia، currently estimated at 200 million dollars.
The Prime Minister also pointed out to the importance of enhancing the role of the Egyptian-Armenian Business Council in promoting the cooperation rates between the two countries.
The Prime Minister said that inking a free trade agreement will contribute to doubling the volume of trade between Egypt and Eurasian countries، as well as deepening bilateral economic cooperation between Egypt and Union member states.
For his part، Grigoryan expressed his country's appreciation for the distinguished political and historical relations between Egypt and Armenia.
He also expressed his hope that this visit will contribute to doubling the volume of trade exchange and enhance bilateral relations in various fields، especially in light of Egypt's huge investment potentials.
For her part، Eurasian Trade Minister praised the high level of Egyptian interest in the partnership file with the Eurasian Union during the visit.
