Inflation rate decreased by 4.1% last December: CAPMAS

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that the monthly inflation rate for last December declined by 4.1%.

Egypt`s general consumer price index reached 296.5 points for December 2018, CAMAS added.

According to the statement issued today، the decline`s is resulted by decreasing the vegetables` prices by 22.4% meat and poultry 2.3%، fruit by 0.6% fish and seafood by 0.5%.

CAPMAS pointed out that the cereals and bread`s prices were increased by 2.1%، prices of clothing and footwear were increased by 0.8%، the prices of the restaurants and hotels sector increased by (0.6%) and the prices of the health care department increased by (0.2%).

The statement showed that the annual inflation rate recorded 11.1% for December 2018 compared to 22.3% for the same month of the previous year.
