Arab League calls for international protection for Palestinian people

The Arab League reiterated its call on the international community to provide international protection to the Palestinian people، condemning Israel's use of excessive military force against the Palestinian people، in flagrant defiance of international law and legitimacy.
This came during a speech delivered by Ambassador Said Abu Ali، Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League for the Palestinian and occupied Arab territories، during the opening session of the emergency meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent delegates held today at the headquarters of the Arab League under the chairmanship of Sudan.
He called Israel to stop its aggression and to provide international protection for the Palestinian people and to implement relevant international and Arab resolutions.
Abu Ali said that the Security Council continues to be unable to shoulder its responsibilities، as happened yesterday on the Israeli aggression on Gaza، adding: "America continued to bias Israel and did not hesitate to disclose this publicly and formally، frustrating all attempts to condemn the occupation and violating the international legitimacy and violating international law،
For his part، Ambassador Abdelmahmood Abdel Halim، Ambassador of Sudan in Cairo and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States said that the meeting was held at the invitation of Palestine and the support of all member states of the Arab League to discuss the repercussions of the brutal aggression on the Palestinian people in Gaza.
He expressed his appreciation for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and affirmed its legitimate right to establish a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4، 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He called for international protection for the Palestinian people and the establishment of an effective operational mechanism for implementing this.
