U.K. Foreign Secretary discusses ‘regional developments’ with Saudi King

U.K. Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt on Moday met with Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz in Riyadh today، as the British official will pressure on the Arab state over Khashoggi murdering.

Saudi Foreign Ministry said on Twitter that Hunt visits the kingdom for “discussing last regional developments.”

“Saudi King، Salman bin Abdel Aziz received U.K. Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt. The two sides reviewd fields of cooperation between U.K. and the Kingdom،” Saudi Foreign Ministry said on twitter.

“They discussed the regional developments of the Middle East.”

Hunt also met his Saudi counterpart Adel Al-Jubair.

“Britain has a unique position، both as pen-holder at the UN Security Council and as a key influencer in the region، so today I am traveling to the Gulf to demand that all sides commit to this process،” Hunt said. He also said he would discuss the case of murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

“I met King Salman and Foreign Minister @AdelAljubeir this morning، and will see the Crown Prince as well as UAE and Yemeni politicians this afternoon. We have been discussing #Khashoggi but also the vital need to seize the moment in Yemen and stop famine and cholera intensifying،” Hunt tweeted on Monday.
