On 4 November 1922، a boy accidentally stumbled on a stone that turned out to be the top of a flight of steps cut into the bedrock of the Valley of the Kings. The Valley of the Kings is a remote valley located in the desert west of the river Nile. In Pharaonic Egypt، this valley was considered the land of the dead and many pharaohs were buried here. In 1922 British archaeologist Howard Carter was searching here the tomb of Tutankhamun، a relatively minor pharaoh ruling over Egypt from 1332 to 1323 BCE، according to Forbes.
