“Ukr Agro Consult” an Ukrainian website has revealed that Kazakhstan in the central of Asia is about to resume exports of wheat to Egypt soon. Kazakh exports of wheat to Egypt were stopped after years of hiatus following the January 2011 revolution.
The site pointed out that Kazakhstan exported to Egypt one million tons of grain annually in the years 2008، 2009 and 2010.
"Kazakhstan's food companies have expressed their willingness to participate in tenders in Egypt، and we hope to establish partnerships between the private sector companies in the two countries. Egypt has already signed 10-million-dollar export contracts to Egypt،" said Arman Issa Jalayev، Kazakhstan's ambassador to Cairo..
The ambassador explained that Egypt is interested in being a base for the export of Kazakh grain، in preparation for distribution in the region.
The volume of trade between Egypt and Kazakhstan rose in 2017 to 62.4 million dollars and reached 60.6 million dollars in the first half of this year.
