Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades stressed that Egypt، Cyprus and Greece have turned a blind eye to the peace process in the Arab region، pointing out that the tripartite meeting between the three countries is aimed at expanding cooperation and support in the region with Lebanon and Jordan، leading to comprehensive peace in the region as a whole.
During his word in a press conference، which was attended by his Egyptian counterpart and Greece Prime Minister، Anastasiades said that Egypt plays a main role in combating terrorism and illegal migration in the region.
He also stressed that such role played by Egypt is envisioned and appreciated by the European Unions and its member countries.
The Cypriot president explained that the current status of the Cyprus issue is being resolved with respect to the laws of the European Union and the international community.
Anastasiades thanked Greece and Egypt for supporting the Cyprus issue and trying to resolve it in ways that fully satisfy all parties.
